Deborah the Prophetess
Then Deborah and Barak the son of Abinoam sang a song on that day; "For the leaders who took the lead in Israel, for the people who offered themselves willingly, bless the LORD! Hear, O kings; give ear, O princes: I will sing to the Lord. I will sing Praise to the Lord, the God of Israel. Judges 5:1-3
Deborah, the prophetess and leader of Israel, knew that the greatest and most powerful weapon against the enemy of her people was to seek the Lord in prayer, praise and worship. When you are faced with enemies of any kind sickness, depression, struggles in your finances or relationships know that prayer and worship is still your most powerful weapon. He hears the cries of his daughters, He lives in their praises.
The man called his wife's name Eve (life spring), because she was the mother of all living things. Genesis 3:20
The Almighty has given Women the gift to bring forth life. You not only can bring forth a person into this world, but you can bring forth life to everything that concerns you. You are fertile soil ready to grow strong, healthy and beautiful relationships, careers, dreams and destinies. You are a life spring.
The Lord repay you for what you have done, and a full
reward be given you by the Lord, the God of Israel,
under whose wings you have come to take refuge!
After the death of her husband, the young widow Ruth followed her destiny when she decided to be of service to her mother-in-law, Naomi, and help care for her. When Boaz met Ruth, he blessed her and told her that she was a woman of noble character. May it be one of your desires to develop a noble character, so that you will be blessed and be a blessing to everyone who meets you.
One evening David got up from his bed and walked on the roof of the king's palace. From the roof he saw a woman bathing.
The woman was very beautiful to look upon. And David sent someone to find out about her. 2 Samuel 11:2
The consequences of our behavior and actions can be devastating. The Bible tells us that David and Bathsheba lost their first child as a result of their sin. However, our God is a forgiving God. He promises to absolve us of all our sins if we ask for forgiveness, and that he will remember our sins no more. David asked God to forgive him and his relationship was restored with God. David loved Bathsheba and they had another son. Though he had many wives, he promised her that her son would inherit his throne. God remembered David, and his son, Solomon, became king. Bathsheba reigned next to him.
So they sent their sister Rebekah on her way, along with her nurse and Abraham's servant and his men. And they blessed Rebekah and said to her, "Our sister, may you increase
to thousands upon thousands; may your offspring possess the cities of their enemies." Genesis 24:59-60
Clearly Rebekah was a virtuous woman who was loved, admired and respected by her family in order to receive such an awesome blessing. What kind of woman are you? What
does your family say about you? What kind of blessing would be spoken to you? If no one has ever given you a blessing, I will. My sister, may you increase to thousands upon thousands; may your offspring possess the cities of your enemies. Meditate on this.
Sarah I know that you are a woman beautiful to behold Genesis 12:11
At the age of 90, God opened Sarah's womb. It's easy to get discouraged when we have prayed for something for a very long time. However, we serve the God of the impossible. Is anything too difficult for Him? While you have breath, there is always hope. But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:30-31.
Like Sarah, you too will soar, if you faint not. See yourself with His eyes. He sees you as a woman beautiful to behold.
Rachel was beautiful in form and appearance. Jacob loved Rachel. And he said, "I will serve you seven years for your younger daughter Rachel." Laban said, "It is better that I give her to you than that I should give her to any other man; stay with me." So Jacob served seven years for Rachel, and they seemed to him but a few days because of the love he had for her. Genesis 29:17-20.
Are you the kind of woman that someone would work seven plus seven more years for? Unfortunately, too many women don't know who they are. They don't know their value and sell themselves short. STOP IT. Say this out loud: I am __________________ (say your full name, place of birth and your citizenship) and daughter of the Most High. Say it again with feeling this time. NOW YOU KNOW.
Mary of Bethany
Then Mary took about a pint of pure spikenard. It was an expensive perfume. She poured it on Jesus' feet and wiped them with her hair. The house was filled with the sweet smell of the perfume. John 12:3
"Mary has chosen the good part," is what Jesus told Martha when she complained about her sister Mary for sitting at His feet and not helping her with all the preparations. Do you sometimes find yourself worried and upset and complaining to God about all the pressures of your life? If you are honest with yourself, you probably created some of those pressures yourself. Next time you find yourself in this frazzled state, Stop, Breath, Praise and Worship Him. Choose the good part.
And Hannah said, "Let your handmaid find favor in your eyes." So she went her way and ate, and her face was no longer sad.
The family rose early the next morning, worshiped before the Lord, and returned to their house in Ramah. Elkanah knew Hannah his wife, and the LORD remembered her. Hannah became pregnant and in due time she had a son and named
him Samuel (heard of God), she said, I have asked for him from the Lord." 1 Samuel 1:18-20
It may seem that God is slow in answering your prayers at times. However, he inhabits your prayers and hears you. He leans close to you and puts his hand on you. Ask and keep on asking. In due time He will grant your request, if you faint not. Pray that you find favor in His eyes as well as in the eyes of others.
And Solomon gave her of his royal bounty. So she turned and went to her own Country, she and her servants
1 King 10:13
The Queen of Sheba had heard about the wisdom of King Solomon. She traveled a great distance to meet him and hear him speak. Her greatest desire was to listen and learnfrom him. King Solomon was surely impressed with this and gave her great gifts and riches. How great a distance would you travel to listen to your King? Do you desire His wisdom, knowledge and understanding? His great gifts, rewards and riches are attached to your desire to seek him. Wisdom is an ingredient of queens.
She was an intelligent and beautiful woman. She was a woman of prudence and of good understanding.1 Samuel 25:3
Physical beauty is a blessing, but it is transitory, and it will only carry a person so far. Developing your character with intelligence and understanding will give you favor with kings. God loves your inner beauty.
The king loved Esther more than all the women, and she won grace and favor in his sight more than all the virgins, so that he
set the royal crown on her head and made her queen.
"If I perish, I perish" were the courageous words that Esther spoke when she took a stand to help save her people. What bold words are you willing to speak in order to stand up for what is right? Evil will prevail if good men keep silent. Courage is an ingredient that queens are made of. Do you have what it
